Mont Blanc
Montblanc's watchmaking runs deeper than most expect: the Minerva manufacture in Villeret, acquired in 2006, has been making chronograph movements since 1858. Our selection covers the 1858 collection, Heritage, Star Legacy and the TimeWalker line, in steel, bronze and precious metal.

1858 and Minerva
The 1858 collection takes its cues from Minerva's military and mountaineering watches of the 1920s and 1930s: cathedral hands, luminous Arabic numerals, oversized crowns and, on the more serious references, a bronze case that patinates with wear. Some carry Minerva-made monopusher chronograph movements built in Villeret to the same standards as a century ago, which is a genuinely different proposition from the rest of the range.
Heritage, Star Legacy and TimeWalker
Heritage is the dress line, thin and round with a domed dial and often a moonphase or perpetual calendar. Star Legacy keeps the classical case with its stepped bezel and Roman numerals. TimeWalker is the sportier, motorsport-inflected chronograph line with a tachymeter bezel and skeletonised hands.
Sizing and straps
The 1858 collection runs from 40mm to 42mm in steel and bronze, with the larger automatic and chronograph references wearing their diameter honestly thanks to a flat caseband. Heritage dress models sit at 39mm to 40mm and slip under a cuff. Bronze cases develop a patina that some buyers want and others do not; it can be polished back. Montblanc straps use a quick-release system on most modern references, so changing the look is straightforward.
Value and condition
Montblanc is one of the few places where you can buy a watch with a properly hand-finished chronograph movement without paying what that normally costs, and the gap between the Minerva-powered references and the rest of the line is worth understanding before you buy. We identify which movement a given reference carries. Every piece is inspected in-house, box and papers are noted where present, price-on-request pieces are quoted on enquiry, and we buy and trade Montblanc.
