Excalibur

Excalibur is the flagship: a fluted bezel, Celtic-cross bridges and, on most references, a skeletonised movement you look straight through. Excalibur Spider strips it further, in skeletonised titanium and carbon with coloured rubber accents. The Spider Pirelli editions use rubber from actual race-used tyres in the strap, and the Aventador S pieces were engineered with Lamborghini around a strut-braced movement.

Velvet and Quatuor

Velvet is the women's line, a round case with a fluted bezel and often full diamond setting, with Velvet Caviar adding dense gem-setting across the dial and case. Quatuor is the technical showpiece, running four sprung balances at 45 degrees to compensate for gravity in every position.

Sizing and presence

There is no discreet Roger Dubuis. Excalibur runs 42mm to 45mm with a wide fluted bezel and a skeleton dial that draws the eye, and the Spider references add height through their strut construction. Velvet is 36mm and reads as jewellery. This is a brand where the watch is meant to be noticed, so the question is not whether it is loud but whether the size sits properly. The Geneva Seal, and what to check

Roger Dubuis is unusual in submitting its entire production for the Poinçon de Genève, which certifies both finishing and origin. That makes finish quality the substance of the watch, so we look hard at bridge bevels, screw slots and skeleton edges before listing anything. Titanium and carbon cases mark differently from steel and we describe wear accordingly. Box and papers are noted where present, price-on-request pieces are quoted on enquiry, and we buy and trade Roger Dubuis.
