Housed in a 44mm round stainless steel case, the Chronomat 44 presents a two-tiered onyx black dial featuring a flat outer ring and a square-shaped center section. Index hour markers with luminescent tips are complemented by luminous hands, while the date window sits between the 4 and 5 o'clock positions. A convex sapphire crystal, glare-proofed on both sides, protects the dial, and the solid case back is secured against water ingress to a depth of 500m (1,650ft).
Chronograph functions are laid out across three sub-dials: a 30-minute counter at 3 o'clock, a 12-hour counter at 6 o'clock, and a small running seconds register at 9 o'clock, with a large central seconds hand bearing the Breitling logo. Screw-in pushers and a screw-locked crown with two gaskets reinforce the case's water resistance. The unidirectional rotatable stainless steel bezel features a tachymeter scale with engraved numbers. Power comes from the Breitling Caliber B01 automatic movement, COSC-certified, housing 47 jewels and offering a minimum 70-hour power reserve.
The watch is presented on a stainless steel bracelet secured by a folding clasp with safety latch. This example is unworn with protective plastics removed and comes accompanied by original Breitling papers and the original Breitling watch box, backed by a Breitling warranty.
