Constructed from Breitling's proprietary Breitlight material — a high-tech polymer charged with composite fibers — the 45mm case is notably over three times lighter than titanium and nearly six times lighter than steel, while maintaining considerable durability. A convex sapphire crystal glare-proofed on both sides protects the dial, and the screw-down crown features a non-slip grip. Water resistance is rated to 100m/330ft.
The volcano black dial carries large applied luminous Arabic numerals styled after the stenciled figures found on aircraft carrier decks, complemented by a printed white minute track and matte grey steel hands with luminous fill. Chronograph functions include a large central seconds counter with a yellow tip, a 30-minute sub-dial at 3 o'clock, and a 12-hour counter at 6 o'clock, with a date window positioned between 4 and 5 o'clock and a small seconds sub-dial at 9 o'clock. The unidirectional rotating bezel features engraved Arabic numerals, index markings, and aged colored luminous at the starting point.
Powering the watch is the Breitling Caliber B01 automatic movement, housing 47 jewels and offering an approximate 70-hour power reserve. The watch is presented on an anthracite military fabric strap with stitching and a tang buckle clasp, and is sold complete with the original Breitling box and papers.
