At the heart of this large Santos de Cartier is the in-house caliber 9611 MC, a manual-winding manufacture movement composed of 138 parts and 20 rubies. Its skeletonised bridges are shaped into Roman numerals and finished in blue lacquer, offering a direct view of the mechanics within. The movement measures 28 mm × 28 mm with a thickness of 3.97 mm, beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour, and delivers a power reserve of approximately 70 hours.
The steel case measures 39.8 mm wide and 9.08 mm thick, featuring Cartier's signature 7-sided crown set with a sapphire. Grey steel sword-shaped hands sweep across the open dial, while a sapphire crystal protects the front and a sapphire case back reveals the movement from the reverse. Water resistance is rated to 10 bar (approximately 100 metres).
Versatility is built in through Cartier's QuickSwitch interchangeability system, allowing effortless swapping between the steel bracelet — equipped with the SmartLink adjustment system — and a second strap in dark blue rubber, each used with an interchangeable steel folding buckle.
