Shaped in the tonneau silhouette Richard Mille has made its own, the RM 71-02 Paloma houses its automatic movement within a white gold case spanning 34.40 mm x 52.20 mm. The diamond-set bezel encircles a sapphire crystal, while a transparent sapphire case back opens the watch to view from both sides, letting the openworked mechanics speak for themselves.
The skeletonized dial removes any barrier between the wearer and the movement, offering hours and minutes with nothing obscuring the architectural construction within. A screw-locked crown and 30-meter water resistance lend a degree of everyday practicality, while the rubber strap and white gold folding clasp ensure the piece sits comfortably on the wrist.
This example of the RM 71-02 Paloma is presented complete with its original box and papers, making it a well-documented example of Richard Mille's approach to combining precious materials with mechanical transparency.
