Housed in a 31 mm Oyster case crafted from Yellow Rolesor — Rolex's combination of Oystersteel and yellow gold — the Datejust 31 features a diamond-set bezel and a screw-down winding crown with Twinlock double waterproofness, offering water resistance to 100 metres. A scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with a Cyclops lens magnifies the date display, while the monobloc middle case and screw-down case back complete the robust Oyster architecture.
The dark grey dial is itself set with diamonds, and a large VI marker is adorned with 11 diamonds, adding depth and brilliance to the face. The five-piece link Jubilee bracelet in matching Yellow Rolesor fastens with a concealed folding Crownclasp, bringing a refined continuity between case and bracelet.
Power comes from Rolex's Calibre 2236, a perpetual mechanical self-winding movement with bidirectional winding via a Perpetual rotor and an approximately 55-hour power reserve. The oscillator features a Syloxi hairspring in silicon with patented geometry and high-performance Paraflex shock absorbers, achieving a precision of -2/+2 seconds per day after casing as a Superlative Chronometer — meeting both COSC and Rolex's own post-casing certification standards.
