Housed in a 31 mm Oyster case crafted from Yellow Rolesor — Rolex's combination of Oystersteel and yellow gold — the Datejust 278243-0014 features a monobloc middle case, screw-down case back, and a screw-down winding crown with Twinlock double waterproofness. A domed bezel frames the scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, which carries a Cyclops lens positioned directly over the date window. The case is waterproof to 100 metres / 330 feet.
The champagne-colour dial is fitted with index hour markers and presents the date through Rolex's characteristic magnified aperture. The watch rides on a five-piece-link Jubilee bracelet in matching Yellow Rolesor, secured by a concealed folding Crownclasp that keeps the profile clean and seamless at the wrist.
Powering the watch is the Calibre 2236, a perpetual, mechanical, self-winding movement manufactured by Rolex. It incorporates a Syloxi silicon hairspring with patented geometry, Paraflex shock absorbers, and bidirectional winding via a Perpetual rotor. The movement delivers a precision of -2/+2 seconds per day after casing, an approximately 55-hour power reserve, and carries Superlative Chronometer certification — combining COSC testing with Rolex's own post-casing standards.
