Housed in a 31 mm Oyster case crafted from Yellow Rolesor — Rolex's combination of Oystersteel and yellow gold — this Datejust 31 features a monobloc middle case, screw-down case back, and a screw-down winding crown equipped with the Twinlock double waterproofness system. A fluted yellow gold bezel frames the scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, which carries a Cyclops lens positioned over the date window. The case is waterproof to 100 metres / 330 feet.
The white dial is dressed with Roman numeral hour markers, lending a classical character to the piece. Beneath it runs the Calibre 2236 — a perpetual, mechanical, self-winding movement manufactured by Rolex, accurate to -2/+2 seconds per day after casing and certified as a Superlative Chronometer. A Syloxi silicon hairspring with patented geometry and Paraflex shock absorbers contribute to the movement's reliability, while bidirectional winding via the Perpetual rotor delivers a power reserve of approximately 55 hours.
The three-piece solid-link Oyster bracelet is likewise rendered in Yellow Rolesor and secured by a folding Oysterclasp fitted with an Easylink 5 mm comfort extension link. Functions include centre hour, minute, and seconds hands, instantaneous date with rapid setting, and stop-seconds for precise time adjustment.
