Housed in a 36 mm Oystersteel case built around Rolex's monobloc middle construction, the Datejust 116244 features a screw-down case back, a screw-down Twinlock winding crown, and scratch-resistant sapphire crystal topped with a Cyclops lens over the date window. The case is water-resistant to 100 metres / 330 feet, and the bezel is set with diamonds throughout.
The dial is finished in sunbeam black and marked with Roman numeral hour indices, lending the watch a distinctly classical character. The three-piece solid-link Oyster bracelet in Oystersteel fastens via a folding Oysterclasp equipped with an Easylink 5 mm comfort extension link for an adjustable, secure fit on the wrist.
Inside runs the Calibre 3235, a perpetual mechanical self-winding movement certified as a Superlative Chronometer to a precision of -2/+2 seconds per day after casing. The movement features a paramagnetic blue Parachrom hairspring, Paraflex shock absorbers, bidirectional winding via a Perpetual rotor, and a power reserve of approximately 70 hours.
