Crafted in Yellow Rolesor, a combination of Oystersteel and yellow gold, the 40mm Oyster case features a monobloc middle case, solid case back, and a screw-down winding crown equipped with Rolex's Triplock triple waterproofness system. A fixed yellow gold bezel carries an engraved tachymetric scale, while a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal protects the dial below. Water resistance is rated to 100 metres / 330 feet.
The black dial is set off by contrasting yellow subdials — a layout collectors refer to as the Paul Newman configuration — with a small seconds hand at 6 o'clock, a 30-minute counter at 3 o'clock, and a 12-hour counter at 9 o'clock. The Oyster bracelet, also in Yellow Rolesor, secures via a folding Oysterlock safety clasp with an Easylink 5mm comfort extension link.
Powering the watch is the self-winding Calibre 4131, a COSC-certified manufacture Rolex movement with a perpetual mechanical chronograph, bidirectional winding via a Perpetual rotor, and a power reserve of approximately 72 hours. The oscillator features a paramagnetic blue Parachrom hairspring and high-performance Paraflex shock absorbers, with precision rated at -2/+2 seconds per day after casing.
