A screw-down case back and screw-down Triplock winding crown seal the Oyster architecture to 100 metres of water resistance, while a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal protects the golden and bright black dial beneath — its Chromalight display lending long-lasting blue luminescence to the hour and minute hands.
Power comes from Rolex Calibre 4131, a self-winding perpetual mechanical chronograph with bidirectional winding via a Perpetual rotor and a power reserve of approximately 72 hours. The movement is COSC certified, delivering precision of -2/+2 seconds per day after casing, and its paramagnetic blue Parachrom hairspring works alongside Paraflex shock absorbers for added resilience. Chronograph functions include a centre seconds hand, a 30-minute counter at 3 o'clock, and a 12-hour counter at 9 o'clock, with stop seconds for exact time setting.
