This luxurious timepiece features a polished stainless steel case and a polished 18k yellow gold fluted bezel ring. The twinlock crown is also made of polished 18k yellow gold and features two sealed zones when screwed down - one inside the tube of the crown and the other inside the winding crown itself.
The champagne dial is adorned with applied polished white gold index hour markers with luminous fill and a fine printed minute/seconds track. The hands are also polished and partially skeletonized to not obscure the dual time display. The hour and minute hands have luminous filled tops for easy reading in low light conditions.
The watch setting and corrections are made through the innovative ring command bezel. This bezel has 3 positions, each corresponding to a different function of the watch - time, dual-time, and annual calendar. Simply rotating the bezel to the desired position allows for easy correction via the crown.
The GMT/dual time-zone feature is displayed through an off-center black 24-hour ring and an inverted red triangle indicating the additional time-zone. The dual time-zone can be adjusted in one hour increments without interrupting the operation of the movement.
The SAROS annual calendar is displayed through a date window at 3 o'clock with a 'cyclops' magnifier and small apertures at each hour marker indicating the month. A red filled display window indicates the current month and only requires a manual correction once a year on March 1st to compensate for the shorter month of February.
This watch is powered by the Rolex in-house calibre 9001, which beats at 28,800 vph and contains 40 jewels. It has an approximate power reserve of 72 hours and features a paramagnetic blue parachrom hairspring and high performance paraflex shock absorbers.
