Housed in a 40 mm round 18K white gold case, the Daytona 126509-0001 features a screw-down back, a screw-down crown with Triplock triple waterproofness system, and a fixed bezel carrying an engraved tachymetric scale rendered in 18K white gold. A scratch-resistant sapphire crystal protects the bright black and steel dial, which is fitted with luminous index hour markers and luminescent silver-tone hands. Water resistance is rated to 100 metres / 330 feet.
The mechanical chronograph movement — Rolex calibre 4131, self-winding — places centre hour and minute hands on the main dial alongside a small seconds hand at 6 o'clock. Chronograph seconds run via a centre hand, with a 30-minute counter at 3 o'clock and a 12-hour counter at 9 o'clock. A stop-seconds function allows precise time setting, and the movement delivers roughly 72 hours of power reserve.
