Introduced in 1956, the Rolex Day-Date earned its place in horological history as the first wristwatch to show the day of the week spelled out in full alongside the date. Reference 1803, dating to 1967, represents a well-regarded generation of that lineage, pairing a 36mm round case in 18k white gold with the model's signature fluted bezel and scratch-resistant sapphire crystal.
The silver dial keeps things legible and unfussy, relying on index markers and silver-toned hands to read the time at a glance. A date display sits at 3 o'clock, while the full day window completes the signature Day-Date complication. The automatic movement meets Swiss Made standards, and the case offers water resistance to 100 meters / 330 feet.
This example is presented on a leather strap. Neither the original box nor the original papers are included. Functions cover the hour, minute, second, date, and day.
